KV Canteen has been around for almost forty years. It is located in the middle of Shivaji Nagar, Bengaluru. It’s known for its traditional Tamil Nadu-style breakfast. Today, we decided to try their famous breakfast.
Our experience at KV Canteen
As we entered KV Canteen, we could smell the delicious food right away. The place was busy but cozy. We went to the counter, ready to try their famous Tomato Bath dish, which everyone talks about.
When we got there at 7 in the morning, we saw many people enjoying their breakfast. It was clear that KV Canteen was my favourite spot. The sight of almost-empty buckets showed how much people loved the Tomato Bath dish.
Tomato Bath is the popular dish at KV Canteen
We chose to have a Tomato Bath with a vada on the side and waited for our food. And let us tell you, it lived up to its reputation! The Tomato Bath was full of rich flavours and delicious spices. Every bite was like a flavour explosion in our mouth. And hidden within the rice, we found soft bits of onions and peas, which added even more yumminess to the dish.
With the Tomato Bath, we got two tasty chutneys – one made with creamy coconut and the other with tangy onions. Mixing a bit of each chutney with my Tomato Bath made every spoonful taste even better. It was like a flavour party in our mouth, and we couldn’t get enough of it.
Crisp and fluffy goodness defines the vada
The vada was a perfect match for the main dish. It was crispy on the outside and soft inside, showing how much attention to detail went into making it. Every bite was like a warm hug, with the gentle spices blending with the chutneys.
Finishing my meal, we felt completely satisfied. KV Canteen went above and beyond my expectations. It wasn’t a meal; it was a journey through tradition and flavour that left me feeling content and happy.
