We went to Banashankari Park to find good food. There, we discovered Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Coffee Bar. This cozy café, a food lover’s dream, has been part of Bangalore’s food scene since 1985. We were happy to taste their famous masala dosa, thinking it would be a yummy trip back in time.
Our Experience at Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Coffee Bar: Trying Bangalore’s Yummy Masala Dosa
When we went into Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Coffee Bar, the smell was great. They’ve been cooking for a long time. The place had an old-fashioned charm, telling the story of its long history. It was more than a coffee bar; it was a piece of Bangalore’s food past.
Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Coffee Bar Masala Dosa Treat
For about sixty rupees, we waited for the star of the show: the famous masala dosa with extra ghee. Watching them make the dosa was like a show from the past. The small price of 50 rupees for the dosa and an extra 10 rupees for more butter felt fair for what we were getting.
The dosa came without the usual chutney spread, which was different. Instead, two chutneys stole the show: the Water Nut Chutney and the Gatti Chutney. The generous layer of butter on the dosa made every bite tasty, creating a nice mix of flavors.
The masala dosa itself was beautiful, with a perfect mix of soft and crispy. Paired with the tasty Potato Palya, it was a yummy experience. Each bite took us back in time, enjoying a well-made masala dosa that showed great cooking.
Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Coffee Bar, open for 35 years, is more than a place to eat; it’s like a food museum. The simple menu tells the story of Bangalore’s food history. It has dishes like Uddina Vade, Masala Dosa, and Khara Bath.
They’re open every day from 6 in the morning until 8:30 at night, except on Sundays when they close at 12:30 in the afternoon. So, whether you like waking up early or prefer a relaxed Sunday brunch, you can go there.
Overall Experience
Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Coffee Bar in Banashankari isn’t a café; it’s like a trip through Bangalore’s food history. The masala dosa is a must-try if you want to taste the past and feel happy. It’s crispy outside, soft inside, and has yummy chutney.
